Target Positioning Viewers: Measuring Distances and Angles

Projected distances and angles can be measured in the Target Positioning Viewers. This can be done using the Measure Distance () and Measure Angle () tool buttons.

To measure the distance between two points, select the () button and position the mouse at a starting point and click. A line appears and follows the cursor until the mouse is clicked again. The distance is shown in a box located in the upper portion of the viewer.

To measure an angle, select the () button and click the mouse at two points to provide a reference line. The reference line is then shown, as is a second line extending to the cursor. The angle is shown in a box located in the upper portion of the viewer.

Key Points of target components (e.g., top, bottom, and centroid of a cylinder; corners of a rectangle, etc.) can be displayed and picked in the Target Positioning Viewers. When picking two Key Points, their absolute positions and the distances between the points can be readily displayed.

To view the Key Point positions for target components, select the Show Key Points tool button ().
